Monthly functional tests check that each light turns on when mains power is isolated. An annual test checks that batteries operate for their full rated duration, usually three hours. I record both types in your log book. ### Will testing interrupt normal business activity? Key switches allow individual emergency circuits to be tested without turning off normal room lighting. Where whole circuit isolation is required, I arrange testing to minimise disturbance to staff. ### What happens if a battery pack fails during the test? The failed luminaire is logged in the report as requiring action.
