- Function test of the fittings and a duration test where the batteries and access allow it
- Note of failed lamps, packs, signs and any circuit that does not run
- Written certificate naming the premises, the date and the result
- A short list of repairs if anything fails, quoted separately

- A new emergency lighting design or extra fittings
- Fire alarm testing, which is a different visit
What changes the price of emergency lighting testing
Emergency lighting testing and certificate starts at £145. That covers the on-site test of the fittings, a duration run where the system allows it, and the written certificate you keep with the fire file.
- The starting price is for a typical small office or shop. Larger warehouses, multi-floor blocks and sites with many self-contained fittings are quoted after we see the layout.
- Failed lamps, packs or wiring sit on a separate quote. Remedial work is not inside the test price.
- Out of hours testing is booked as an emergency callout and charged from £105 per hour on top of the test itself.

Emergency lighting testing and certificate starts at £145 for a typical small office or shop. Larger sites are quoted once we know how many fittings and floors are involved.
How often should emergency lighting be tested?
Most workplaces keep a monthly function check in the log and a full duration test at least once a year. We carry out the annual duration test and issue the certificate.
Do you test emergency lighting in warehouses?
Yes. We test high-bay fittings and long escape routes in Eastleigh, Hedge End, Whiteley and the Southampton dock sheds. Access equipment for very high fittings is arranged with you first.
What if a fitting fails the test?
It is marked on the certificate and we send a separate written price for the repair. The test fee does not include replacement lamps, packs or wiring.
