Who needs EICR remedial works
- A commercial EICR, which is a fixed wire test of the building’s circuits, often leaves C1 and C2 codes that must be cleared before the next inspection. Landlords, facilities managers and shop owners book this work when the report says the installation is unsatisfactory.

- A short written note of which observation numbers have been cleared
Not included
- A new commercial EICR of the whole building
- Distribution board replacement, three phase work or data cabling unless quoted separately
- C3 improvement recommendations unless you ask for them on the same visit
What happens on the day
We attend as the company that quoted. Isolation, repair and paperwork happen in that order so the circuit is live again only when it tests correctly.

Arrival and isolation
We meet the site contact, confirm the observation numbers, and isolate the affected circuits at the board before any cover comes off.

Repair of the coded fault
We replace the damaged part, tighten or remake the joint, correct the earthing, or fit the protective device the report called for, then restore the circuit.

Retest and certificate
We retest the repaired circuit, leave the installation energised if it is safe, and hand over the certificate for the work before we leave site.
How this is priced
EICR remedial works start from £65 an hour. That rate covers diagnosis of the coded defect, the repair itself, and a retest of the affected circuit before we leave.
- Materials, replacement accessories and any new containment sit on the quote as extras.
- If the original EICR listed several codes, we price each repair in writing before we start.
- Out of hours attendance uses the emergency callout rate, not this hourly figure.
- Fixed wire testing is priced on the number of boards and circuits, not by the hour.
- Emergency lighting is priced per light, and the three hour test is priced separately.
- Repairs are priced item by item off the report, so you choose what to do and when.
- Work outside your trading hours costs a different rate, and I tell you what it is before I set off.
- Quotes are free, rescheduling is free, and there is no callout fee.
What you get after the repair
You are left with a safe circuit, a certificate for the remedial work, and a clear list of which codes have gone so the next EICR can be booked against a known date.
- Define the proposal
- Before tools come out we write which observation numbers we will clear, the hourly rate, and any parts that sit outside that rate.
- Extras stay a separate quote
- C3 items, board upgrades and extra circuits stay on their own quote so the remedial visit does not grow into a larger job without a price first.
- Match any requested record
- The certificate uses the same circuit references and observation numbers as the original EICR so your file, insurer or managing agent can tick them off.
- The next retest date
- Once the unsatisfactory codes are gone you can book the next full commercial EICR against a date that matches the remaining life of the installation.

The circuits we repair are retested and certificated. A full commercial EICR of every circuit is a separate visit if you still need one.
Can you do C1 danger present the same day?+
If the part is on the van we isolate, repair and retest on that visit. Unusual boards or three phase devices may need a second date.
