Who books commercial electrical fault finding
- Facilities managers, shop owners, warehouse supervisors and plant engineers call when a circuit dies, a machine will not start or a board keeps tripping during the working day.
- A socket row, lighting circuit or till supply has gone down and staff cannot trade until it is back. We test from the board out and restore the circuit that has failed.
- A three phase motor, compressor or production line has lost power or is tripping on start. We check the isolator, the tails and the protective device before we touch the machine itself.
- A commercial tenant reports no lights, a warm board or repeated trips. We attend the unit, find the cause and leave the occupier with a working supply.
What is and is not included
The visit covers locating the fault on the commercial installation and putting the affected circuit back into service where the parts on site allow it.

- Safe isolation, testing and tracing from the distribution board to the failed outlet, light or machine feed
- Repair of the defective connection, device or cable where the materials are available on the van or from a local merchant

Not included
- A full fixed wire inspection of every circuit on the premises
- Rewiring a whole board or installing a new three phase supply as part of the same hour
- IT hardware repair, software faults or telecoms work beyond the electrical supply to the cabinet
What happens on the day
We come as the company that quoted, from arrival at the workplace through to the certificate or written note at the end.

We sign in, walk the affected area with you and isolate the circuit at the board before any covers come off.

Testing and repair
We test along the run until the defective joint, device or cable shows up, then repair or replace that part and prove the circuit holds.

Handover and paperwork
We restore the supply, show you the working circuit and leave the certificate or written note with the cause and the work done.
How this is priced
The starting rate of £75 an hour buys attendance, testing and the first hour of repair on a commercial electrical fault.
- Further hours, replacement parts and any out of hours attendance are billed on top of that first hour.
- We confirm the hourly rate in writing before we open a board or isolate a circuit.
- Travel around Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Hedge End, Whiteley, Segensworth and Southampton sits inside the hourly rate.
- Fixed wire testing is priced on the number of boards and circuits, not by the hour.
- Emergency lighting is priced per light, and the three hour test is priced separately.

- Work outside your trading hours costs a different rate, and I tell you what it is before I set off.
- Quotes are free, rescheduling is free, and there is no callout fee.

Can you come out of hours if a shop or warehouse is down?+
Calls are answered at any time. Booked work sits in opening hours unless you ask for an emergency callout, which is a separate hourly rate from £105.
Will the rest of the building stay on while you work?+
We isolate only the failed circuit where the board layout allows it. Lighting, sockets and plant on other ways stay live unless the fault sits on a common incoming supply.
Do you leave a certificate after a commercial repair?+
Where the repair is notifiable we issue the NICEIC paperwork. For smaller repairs you still get a written note of the cause, the parts used and the test result.
