When do we need an emergency electrician

You deal with MCI Electrical from the first call through to leaving the site safe.

We arrive and isolate what is unsafe
We meet whoever is on site, confirm the reported fault and isolate the board, circuit or machine so nobody is at risk while we work.

We find the fault and repair what we can
We test the failed run, name the cause and restore power or lighting where the parts on the van and the time on site allow.

We leave you a clear next step
Before we go we tell you what is now safe, what still needs a booked return and whether a certificate is due for the work done that night.
How this is priced
An out of hours emergency callout starts from £105 an hour. That buys our attendance, diagnosis of the live fault and the first safe repair we can complete on the visit.
- The £105 an hour figure is a starting price for out of hours attendance, not a fixed job total.
- Materials, extra hours and any follow on repair are charged separately once the fault is known.
- Daytime commercial fault finding is a different booking and starts from £75 an hour.
- Fixed wire testing is priced on the number of boards and circuits, not by the hour.
- Emergency lighting is priced per light, and the three hour test is priced separately.
- Repairs are priced item by item off the report, so you choose what to do and when.
- Work outside your trading hours costs a different rate, and I tell you what it is before I set off.
- Quotes are free, rescheduling is free, and there is no callout fee.
What you get after an emergency callout
You are left with a safer installation, a named cause and a written price for any work that has to wait.
- Clarify the reported condition
- We put the fault into plain words: which board, circuit or machine failed, and whether the rest of the building can stay on.
- Only the work the fault needs
- We do the work needed to make that fault safe. Extra upgrades wait for a separate quote and a separate visit.
- Specify any required record
- If the night's work needs an NICEIC record, we say so on site and issue it once the job is complete.
- Keep later work separate
- Board upgrades, LED replacements, data cabling and charger installs stay as their own bookings, not add ons to the callout hour.
