What happens on the day
You deal with us from the first look at the cabinet through to the test sheet. MCI Electrical is NICEIC registered and we stay on the job until the links pass.

Arrival and cabinet check
We arrive in the booked window, walk the floor with you, mark the point positions and check space, power and earthing at the cabinet before any cable is pulled.

Pull terminate and number
We install the containment, pull Cat6 or Cat6A, terminate at both ends and number each plate so it matches the patch panel.

Test sheet and handover
We test every run, leave the sheets with you, show you which ports are live, and pack the tools away so the floor can go back into use.
How this is priced
Structured data cabling with Cat6 or Cat6A starts from £420. That starting price buys a survey, the first set of runs to the desks or racks you book, faceplates, a patch panel in the cabinet, and a test sheet for each link.
- From £420 is a starting price for a small commercial floor with a short list of points, not a fixed figure for a whole building.
- Longer runs, Cat6A, containment through a warehouse, extra cabinets and work outside opening hours are priced on the written quote.
- Switches, routers, the internet circuit and camera kits sit on their own lines unless you book them with the cabling.
- Fixed wire testing is priced on the number of boards and circuits, not by the hour.
- Emergency lighting is priced per light, and the three hour test is priced separately.
- Repairs are priced item by item off the report, so you choose what to do and when.
- Work outside your trading hours costs a different rate, and I tell you what it is before I set off.
- Quotes are free, rescheduling is free, and there is no callout fee.

Do you test every Cat6 run?+
Yes. We certify each link and leave the sheets with you before we go. A run that fails is reterminated or replaced on the same visit where the cable path allows.
Can you add points to an existing cabinet?+
Yes, if the cabinet has space and the tray or trunking can take the extra cores. We survey first so the new numbers follow the ones already on the panel.
